Without knowledge of any of this, our water was shut off without us being able to make preparations. Had we known, it would have been no big deal as we are fan of people making improvements to their properties. However, we work out of our home and invite clients into our home and this was an unnaceptable abuse of our utilities. This company abused their power and left a lot of citizens without working water for 3 hours.
Unbeknownst to us, water was shut off at our home around 9am in the morning. We proceeded to call the city to find out that there was work being done in this area by Metro General Services. They notified us that there should have been notice on the door 24 hours prior to this work being done. This was not the case. I eventually found notice in my mailbox, where it is not supposed to go according to the city. It was not placed in the mailbox 24 hours prior to the work, rather it was in there the morning of the work. Who checks their mail at 7 in the morning?
The city of Minneapolis required that we have the water line to our house replaced. Metro General Services gave us the best price and did amazing work- everyone from the secretary to the owner. They were professionals the entire time. They ensured that our family had water (we have three young kids), they were respectful of our our home, our neighbors, and of the process in general. They clearly understand what it means to run a business with integrity.
